Music
Brendan Ware fuses pop/acoustic and alternative music to create a joyous mix of classic with contemporary sounds. On the Love is the Key EP Brendan plays piano, guitars and vocals to create songs that sum up what life is about and the wonder that Love brings to life and this is reflected in song. Love is the Key, Heroes and Girl (all feature on the EP and are happy and positive tracks) reflecting turning 30 years old and having the time of your life! I see the light, (first featured on Brendan's limited edition and still avaliable on request 1st album S.O.U.L. is more 'chilled' and is a calming end to a fantastic EP.
The EP sounds like Brit-pop at its finest! The addition of Spencer Horton's extrordinary fret work and overall production skills include drums, bass, various electric guitars and strings, piano and chimes to make a coming together of brit pop and space rock!
Brendan is inspired musically by Oasis, The Beatles, The Small Faces, Thin Lizzy, Gram Parsons, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Motown (Wonder/Gaye/Ross/Franklin etc) and great contemporary music like Amy Winehouse, Plan B, Jack Johnson, David Kitt and Joshua Radin - In fact there is very little that Brendan doesn't like:
'Pop music, Great Rock 'n' Roll, Contemporary Dance, Reggae, Dancehall, Blues, Funk, Pscheadelia, singer songwriter type stuff, Gospel, Jazz, Soul, - its all got its place, and when done well, its all good. Great music is what I aim to create. If you like it - fantastic, hate it - your loss, thats the way I look at it. Obviously, I'd want people to love it. I love it!' (Brendan Ware, May 2010)
